The search for sustainability for Kudvumisa Foundation’s health and economic development projects has led us to build and open a team house that also serves as a guesthouse between team visits. The income from the team/guest house will help ensure Kudvumisa Foundations projects have local sustainability built into them.
The house also helps the surrounding community by creating employment in hospitality as the house needs help in the kitchen, cleaning and setting up rooms and laundry. While low level, the skills and experience hopefully will allow us to grow a local house manager from the surrounding community. Many of the construction workers came from the community and grounds, security, and maintenance workers will all be local. A big win for the local community to move out of poverty to employment and maybe even creating new businesses.
