Dear Donors,
Thank you to those who have already contributed to the Jobs Placements for 1,500 Unemployed Female Nurses project. Your generosity shows care for both trained nurses seeking work and communities that lack reliable health services.
Across Nigeria, many qualified female nurses remain without jobs after graduation, while rural and low-income areas struggle with staff shortages. Clinics are often understaffed, patients wait long hours, and some facilities cannot provide basic care consistently. At the same time, many nurses are unable to secure placements due to relocation costs, paperwork, or lack of connections to hiring facilities.
This project is planned to link 1,500 unemployed female nurses with health centers in rural and underserved locations. Support will cover job matching, basic orientation, transport assistance, documentation, and starter tools needed for their first months of work. Health facilities will benefit from additional hands, while nurses gain paid roles and practical experience.
At this stage, although a donation has been received, the funds available are not yet enough to begin implementation. Placement activities, logistics, and onboarding cannot start until more support is secured.
Once funding improves, we will begin matching nurses to clinics and provide regular updates on placements made. This effort can help reduce staff shortages, allow nurses to earn a living, and bring regular care closer to communities that need it.
Thank you for your continued interest and support as we work to move this project forward.
With appreciation,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
