The KSP will welcome 20 new girls at our school in Yopougon, Ivory Coast, girls who are working on the street or in plantations, provide education, uniforms, school supplies, and 2 meals warm a day KSP will equip a designed Maker Space to enhance our skill learning curriculums. The new Maker Space will have sewing, carpentry, and electricity training equipment 51 children will be skill-based receiving an education 150 young adults will be trained 1200 lives will be directly impacted
In the Ivory Coast, it is reported that 318,196 girls who are primary school age are not enrolled in school, compared to 143,696 boys (source: Ivory Coast: Education Statistics: CEIC). Although the country is seeing greater early childhood enrollment, it still remains that 2 out of 3 school-age girls are not enrolled. Coupled with poverty, girls are more likely to drop out of school, be pushed into child marriages to alleviate financial burdens on families, and fall victim to child prostitution
At least 20 girls, ages 5-12, enrolled in our year-round education center. This would be a 50% increase from the previous years' girls enrollment. we will ensure that they will remain in school for the duration of primary education. To do this, we will identify families who cannot afford to educate their girls but, at least, express a desire for their girls to be educated. We will provide a comprehensive medical check-up, a uniform, and meals throughout the school years.
To educate a girl is to uplight a community. This project will welcome 20 girls to our school, create employment for 2 additional female teachers, and enroll 5 new mothers in our women's program. Getting girls off the streets and plantations safe them from an arch childhood and give them the opportunity to better their lives, provide for themselves and future generations. Over 1200 lives will be directly impacted by this project.
