Summary

After last year's success, The Branch Foundation, in collaboration with The Cambodian Center for the Protection of Children's Rights (CCPCR), plans to continue providing access to education in a safe environment for 28 girls in Phnom Penh. These girls are survivors of sex-trafficking and/or other forms of abuse. You can invest in their future by donating now, or ensure the sustainability of this project through monthly recurring donations. Together we can create lasting change!

Challenge

Given the extreme poverty many people face in Cambodia, women and children are often left vulnerable to abuse such as sex trafficking. This leads them down a dark path of low self esteem, lack of empowerment and opportunities, and severe health risks. In Phnom Penh, there are currently 28 abuse survivors at the Cambodian Center for the Protection of Children's Rights (CCPCR) who need assistance to stay in school. Otherwise they run the risk of returning to a life of uncertainty and instability.

Solution

The Branch Foundation and CCPCR both strongly believe in the power of education and holistic therapy to turn lives around for the better. With your help, we hope to provide safety, education and greater opportunities for these 28 girls. By developing their literacy/ numeracy skills, and boosting their confidence and emotional strength, the girls will be much better placed to find secure alternative employment, thus increasing their chances of living a dignified life away from vulnerabilities.

Long-Term Impact

Women are a powerful, yet vulnerable and largely untapped human resource in Cambodian society. This project targets the most maginalized of female groups - formerly abused girls. The focus of this project is on providing opportunities, tangible life skills and empowerment to these 28 girls. This, in turn, will allow them to break the cycle of negativity and will provide a better life for them and future generations.
