It is a big challenge to maintain needy children in school as they drop out over a mulititude of reasons. The Needy African Children through this project motivates and empowers the needy children of Busoga to stay longer in school. It will benefit at least 300 children annualy and cost Us Dollars 50000 in the first year. We are already supporting 20 children from our humble means. With your help we can support an extra 280 children and assure them a better future.
The school drop out rate in the Busoga sub region is very high, they drop out due to lack of school fees, exercise books, pens, sanitary pads for girls, lunch dues, school uniforms, child labour activities and Ignorance of parents. Many of the children have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS scourge and they lack social support. The project is currently supporting only 20 children in the Busembatia Subcounty but the demand is so high. We require assistance to take an extra 280 for this first year.
The project will continue to provide direct support to the children in terms of school fees, Lunch fees, sanitary towels, subsidized medical treatment, scholastic materials, We are already conducting community and school awareness talks on the importance of education. In addition we plan to start a saving scheme and introduce income generating activities to ensure susteinability.
Education is the master key to individual success and social economic development. We shall be able to break the viscius circle of poverty as the educated offsprings will be able to lead a better and productive life. The rates of child prostititution and criminality will also drop. With your help we shall assure these children a better future.
