Challenge

Our childrens future in Nigeria is at stake and education in Nigeria is in dire need of intervention. The situation is worse in Northern Nigeria as a result of crisis and poverty and the girl child is the worse hit in this situation because families cannot afford fees to send our girls to school, our schools are not well equipped with little or no teaching aids, no toilet facilities and thus the girls stay at home during their menstral cycles. Our cultural system encourages early marriages too

Solution

This project will ensure our girls get equal opportunity to go to school and stay in school as we intend to build 5 blocks of classrooms, provide sick bay equipments when they fall ill, provide books and literacy services, 3 Ventilated Improved Pit Latrines, nutritious meals and school fees that will affect 1950 girls in Government Junior Schools in Tarauni Local Governing Council in Kano. Our girls will have access to quality education and skills that will build confidence in them.

Long-Term Impact

Our project will build 5 classroom blocks equipped with furniture and fittings, qualititative educational materials, build 3 Ventilated Improved Pit Latrines, provide nutrious meals and school fees for our girls. This project will ensure that our girls stay in school, have equal opportunities in terms of knowledge and skills, reduce the rate of early child marriages as our girls will have confidence in making decisions to complete their education. The project will affect 1950 girls in Kano
