Living in poverty is about more than needing to afford food and shelter. In fact, often times, those struggling with extremely limited budgets have previously made the decision to sacrifice their hygiene health to instead afford food or shelter. This fundraiser changes that, providing hope and hygiene kits to families in need.
Living on low income is about more than just affording food and shelter. Living in poverty looks like: Struggling to wash your hair when you can't afford shampoo; Using a worn out toothbrush or sharing; Being stuck at home during menstruation because you can't afford period protection; Being judged for living in a dirty home because you cannot afford cleaning supplies; Going without deodorant because you can't afford it; Always wearing hand-me-down and used clothing.
We are on a mission to change this for babies, children, and adults in poverty whose caregivers have to choose between food and other basic needs. We eliminate that choice, and provide an extra sense of dignity for individuals struggling with poverty.
The Keep Families Fresh campaign will fund hope & hygiene kits via community partner agencies in Northeast Wisconsin to give to people in need. Our community partner nonprofits are those already providing direct resources to people with low income, providing other key resources, support or guidance to help these families onto a path of self sufficiency. Together, we are partnering to change the picture of poverty in our area.
