In rural Uganda, many girls miss school due to lack of menstrual products. This project will provide 500 vulnerable girls with reusable sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education. Your support will help keep girls in school, improve their health, and restore their confidence.
In rural communities across Uganda, menstruation remains a major barrier to girls' education. Without access to affordable sanitary products, many girls are forced to stay home during their periods-missing up to five days of school each month. Over time, this leads to poor academic performance, low self-esteem, and increased dropout rates. Social stigma and lack of menstrual health education further worsen the situation, leaving girls feeling ashamed and unsupported.
This project will support 500 vulnerable schoolgirls by providing: Reusable sanitary pad kits (lasting up to 12 months), Menstrual hygiene and health education, Safe spaces for discussion and confidence building The reusable pads offer a sustainable, cost-effective solution, while education sessions empower girls with knowledge and dignity.
This project will keep 500 rural girls from disadvantaged households in school, reduce school absenteeism by up to 50%, improve girls' confidence and participation, promote better menstrual hygiene practices and support long-term retention of girls in school
