Keep Girls in Rugby

By Nicholas Aballa | Project Leader

Dear Donors and Sponsors,

We want to express our deepest gratitude for your invaluable contribution to our "Keep Girls in Rugby" project. Your generosity has played a crucial role in empowering young girls through sports and, more recently, in supporting our sanitary pad drive. By ensuring access to sanitary pads, we are breaking down barriers that may have hindered girls from fully participating in sports and education.

Your commitment to our cause has made a significant impact, allowing us to not only promote girls' participation in rugby but also address a critical issue affecting many young women – menstrual hygiene. With your support, we were able to organize a successful sanitary pad drive, providing essential supplies to girls in need and promoting awareness about menstrual health. The culmination of our efforts was our girls' outstanding participation in the Safari 7s Rugby Tournament where they finished in an impressive 5th place.

We would like to take this opportunity to share some highlights of the impact your contribution has had:

  1. Increased Participation: The sanitary pad drive has encouraged more girls to actively engage in rugby, knowing that their basic needs are being addressed, fostering a sense of inclusivity and belonging. We are thrilled to share with you the culmination of our efforts: our girls' outstanding participation in the Safari 7s Rugby Tournament. What makes this success even more remarkable is the feedback we received directly from the girls. A remarkable 15% of them expressed that they were able to participate in the tournament because of the sanitary pad drive. For many, this initiative opened up new possibilities by providing the necessary resources to play rugby comfortably during their menstrual cycles – something they never knew was possible. Your contribution has not only facilitated their sports participation but has also contributed to breaking down barriers and challenging societal norms.
  2. Education and Awareness: Through workshops and informational sessions, we have been able to educate girls about menstrual health, providing them with knowledge that will empower them throughout their lives.
  3. Community Support: Your support has not only benefited individual girls but has also strengthened our community as a whole, creating a more supportive and understanding environment.

Once again, thank you for your commitment to our cause. Your generosity has made a lasting impact on the lives of these girls, and we are truly grateful for your partnership
