Adult Training for 2024, changing lives forever!

By Louise and the Dream Team | Director

Our new Tutor Group!
Our new Tutor Group!

What a busy week or so we have had! Its been so gooooooooooooooooodddddd!

We started on the 14th of June running a tutor course for 14 adults who want to support our training team as volunteers. This course trains the participants to work with adults and children as tutors, a very skilled role that requires understanding of communication, training skills and group dynamics. Five of the participants are alumni from our Children's Program.

As soon as that course was finished, we then trained, with the help of a few tutors, 20 people on practical skills required to assist the scouts to advance through the program. Then, using more tutors, we implemented a Warrant Course, which is a 4day training course for 20 adults working with scouts. The Warrant Course trains the participants to work more comprehensively with the children and builds on the Introduction to Adult Leadership training they had all done last year.

It was so exciting to see the light globes go on, the training was very well appreciated by all.

Dear Course Directors (Skills and Warrant Course, Westfalia, Tzaneen, 16-20 June 2024) and Keep The Dream 196

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible four days of training that you provided to us. Your dedication, passion and expertise were truly inspiring and we feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from you.

Your knowledge and guidance have not only deepened our understanding of scouting but have also equipped us with valuable skills and tools that we will carry with us throughout our scouting journey. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the movement are truly commendable and have made a lasting impact on all of us who were fortunate enough to be trained by you.

Thank you for your unwavering support, encouragement and leadership. Your mentorship during this training course has been truly invaluable and we are so grateful for the time and effort you invested in helping us grow as scouts and as individuals.

We look forward to applying everything we have learned from you in our future scouting endeavours and we will never forget the important lessons you have taught us.

Thank you once again for your dedication and for being an outstanding national scout team. Your passion and selflessness have not gone unnoticed and we are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from you.

The adventures to experience each and every scouting skill step was more fascinating (from Dombolo to Banquet). We also appreciate the Most High Spirit for God kept us protected until we reached home safely.

Thumbs up to:

The Course Director

With deep appreciation and gratitude 1st Eestergeluk Scouts Group

You provided the funding for the 3 trainings, your support has enabled us to train 20 volunteers who will return to their villages and in turn, create 20 scout troops with approximately 30 children. Your investment in KTD196 means we have been able to invest in these adults and approximately 300 to 600 children (depending on if we trained one person or two people working in the same troop together) will benefit from the trainings through cascade education. (Cascade is a process by which we train the adults and the information is then cascaded down to the children).

You have made this possible. We are reaching more children, changing more lives. This is just from the 14th we are still at camp training the children now, but more about that next week. Thank you for partnering with us and helping to create a new future for these adults and children. It is only through your partnership with KTD196 that we can achieve these out comes.

Thank you and God bless you

Louise
