Kids Club Kampala is a UK charity helping vulnerable kids in East Africa survive and thrive. Kids Club Kampala works to overcome the lack of hope and self-esteem of children living in situations of extreme poverty by empowering communities to bring about sustainable changes. We work in partnership with teams in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, who passionately lead and implement our projects which are a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable children in the world.
The children that we work with come from extremely poor households and the conditions in Kampala's slums are shocking. The slums are notorious for drug and alcohol abuse, violent crime and abject poverty. People face problems of overcrowding, poor sanitation, insufficient shelter and food insecurity on a daily basis. Many children have been orphaned, neglected or simply abandoned as a result of poverty or sickness.
We are passionate about empowering these children and communities, letting them know they are loved and helping them to overcome their situations of poverty. We support vulnerable kids in East Africa by providing for their immediate needs and strengthening their futures through our 3 programme areas: Child Protection, Access to Education and Family Strengthening.
Over the last 16 years, we have provided more than 45 million hot meals to hungry children and families; free education for over 1,890 children; counselling for 7,000 vulnerable young people; vital skills training for 1150 adults; rescued 223 children from abandonment and reunited 161 children back with loving families. Our vision is to see children's lives transformed, communities empowered and poverty reduced throughout East Africa.
