Every year on Christmas day, our ministry distributes hot meals and winter care packages consisting of new sneakers, socks hats, gloves, thermal shirts, men and women underwear, to our unsheltered neighbors here in Philadelphia. For some, these are the only winter clothes they receive.
As of 2019, 5,700 people in the city were considered homeless with 950 people unsheltered1. Given the devastating toll that COVID-19 has had on the world, our country, and our city, those who are vulnerable are now even more greatly affected as resources are becoming more sparse due to closures of businesses and diminishing access to vital means.
The mission project held by Kingdom Keepers Outreach is an opportunity to help meet some of the basic needs of those who have been displaced. This year we are adding book bags, t-shirts, underwear for males and females, hand sanitizer, and feminine hygiene products to our existing care packages. Grab-n-go meals will be implemented while providing six feet of space between participants.
The Mission Project is an opportunity for those who are in need to get their needs met and to feel like there is someone who cares about them.
