Thanks to your support, more than 70 children at an orpahange in Korea got new bedding earlier this year. As part of our "furniture fund," which you gave to through GlobalGiving, we have been able to meet some of the immediate furniture and supply needs at orphanages where we work.
The new bedding was needed because some of the kids at this particular orphanage had been sleeping with blankets that were more than 10 years old. The new blankets and bedding brought smiles to the kids' faces, as you can imagine.
We were also able to purchase some screen doors, one of which is pictured in the collage. The screen doors were great for keeping the mosquitoes out of the kids' rooms at the orphanage during the hot and humid summer. Even though their is air conditioning at most orphanages, it isn't run very frequently, and the windows and doors are kept open for most of the summer months (which is also typical of most average Korean homes).
As always, we're grateful for your generosity, and if you have any questions or comments, we encourage you to contact us at any time. Kamsahamnida! (Thank you, again, in Korean!)
Regards,
Aimee
