What an inspiring time we had when we recently visited our girls' preventative sex-trafficking work in Kolkata. They girls are progressing very well under the 24/7 care of the house parents. One girl is now studying at tertiary level and another three are about to complete their high school education. For kids from rural villages where education is so very limited, they are doing very well.
The care givers are highly committed and self-sacrifical in their approach. They are certainly not in this project for their own benefit nor "just for the money."
Whilst in Kolkata, I traveled with the house father up to Murshidabad District and visted many of the girls' families. This too was very interesting and sobering. There were varying degrees of poverty. It clearly did appear like the girls' parents were happy that their child was being well cared for and receiving an education that the parent(s) could neither afford nor even gain access to.
While up in Murshidabad we visited a particular area where there is alot of commercial sex. The conditions there were dire and sad. We are so grateful to you for your support so that our girls never have to know about such places! And the great news too is that it seems like we can receive a subsidy from a particular donor who has said that they will give an extra $1 for every $1 that we receive via this website.
