Thanks to GlobalGiving Foundation funds, we had the opportunity to continue with this project during February and March, 2019, to promote the recovery and stabilization of vulnerable communities after hurricane María passed through Puerto Rico. Thanks to your donations, we have been able to continuously provide clinical services with “Conexión Móvil” program, such as preventive and primary medical care, nursing, drug counseling and psychology, as well as food and other services, in 11 communities of San Juan. A total of 328 non-duplicated persons were impacted with 2,138 service units. Of those, 98% were homeless persons.
Also, health fairs have been coordinated, in order to impact more individuals in some of those communities. Around some of them, there are a lot of homeless persons looking for food and assistance, as well as very low income persons. These health fairs continuously allow us to screen vital signs and evaluate different conditions of the homeless and people that were severely affected by hurricane María.
Thanks to donors like you, La Fondita de Jesús can continue making a difference to help communities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to work toward their self-sufficiency.
