We have the laptops! We just need the sleeves! We purchased one sleeve already, as depicted in the photos, and identified it with a UP circular logo. We are asking for your help to fund the remaining ones. Why do we need these? When we invest, we do all we can to protect the investment and help the school do the same. So, each laptop will be placed in its own sleeve before it is nestled in the bank safe, which we fund to ensure maximum security.
We are grateful to have received numerous laptops to start a number of computer labs at schools we support in rural South Africa. The laptops need to be protected, however, from scratches, screen breaks, and other such incidents. Without the cases, the laptops will be subject to unnecessary wear and tear, and the longevity of their usefulness will be compromised.
These laptop sleeves will protect the technology for the long-term. Laptops can be fragile, and the sleeves will shelter them from excessive scratches, screen breaks, and other wear and tear. They will also cushion them and separate them from other laptops when they are stored in a bank safe, which we also purchase to protect our donors' investments and the learners' access to tech.
Extended access to fully functioning laptops leads to greater tech mastery for children. That, in turn, prepares them as they climb up the school ladder, from K - Grade 12. It also dramatically enhances their chances of being admitted to university and college, succeeding once there, and pursuing careers that are tech-based.
