Covid-19 created major problems for OpenmindProjects and the schools we support. After much work and support from Cisco, their and other volunteers, we have managed to run online programs. With funding for 2022, we can go on and expand to more schools. We also hope to welcome back, students and volunteers in 2022!
Village, migrant and minority children suffer from the Covid-19 effects. The schools, the children in rural Southeast Asia are poor, lack good education opportunities and access to internet. These students suffer more than other students from the Covid-19 effects and lockdowns and are left behind even more!
In 2021 we developed and arranged an online training program for schools and students. In 2022 we extend this to more schools and students. We will also offer online training for international and local volunteers. We of course welcome volunteers back to help students at schools and other projects when possible!
OpenmindProjects has for many years arranged camps, helped schools and students and trained hundreds of long-term trainees with the help of over 2000 volunteers! Now we will add online education with online volunteers and will also restart school projects and welcome volunteers, when possible, in 2022. This provides opportunities to mix online learning with volunteers onsite. This will enhance the impact of our support to poor students.
