A life changed for the better

By Amy L Wiza | Executive Director

We were delighted to hear this testimony from one of the women who has branched out in a new direction, utilizing the skills she acquired along the way by participating in W/NP Programs.

“Hello, I sincerely hope that all is well with you, your health, family and organization.  I have been waiting for this moment to share with you what I am doing at this moment with everything that your organization cultivated in me for 23 years now.  I am collaborating in a project in the creation of a sewing workshop in the shelter of a hospital, intended to give occupational therapy to hospitalized patients who are fighting for their lives against breast or uterine cancer.

I will be responsible for teaching and helping these women in their emotional recovery, I will put into practice all the knowledge acquired.  It has been an experience of many challenges where my resilience has allowed me to find learning methods for this type of group of students and I reaffirmed that everything I learned has been key to me in this process and I am very thankful to you and the organization runs very diligently.

I know that this story will make you very happy since indirectly your organization is part of the fact that I can do this work of empowering these women who have a super strong reality.”  Yanina

Empowering economically disadvantaged women in Nicaragua and helping them develop leadership skills, initiative, and to gain self-sufficiency is one of our goals, we appreciate your support.  It’s a win/win when women can learn skills, earn income, feel productive, help others and through all this their own communities become a better place for all.
