By Salah Kamal | Founder & President

Project Status

Funds raised: $2,738 of $10,000 goal (27.38%)
- Donors: 13
- Monthly donors: 1
- Campaign status: Active (preparation phase; coordinating with local partners)

Current Situation

As families flee conflict-affected areas in Lebanon, thousands of pets are being left behind. These animals are facing fear, hunger, dehydration, injury, and exposure with little to no access to food, water, shelter, or veterinary care. This crisis is growing daily, creating urgent animal welfare needs and increasing public health and community strain as the stray population rises.

Significant Progress

Since the last report, the campaign has continued building momentum: - Donor growth: Increased from 11 to 13 donors - Sustained support: Maintained 1 monthly donor, helping stabilize ongoing response capacity - Stronger readiness: Continued coordination with local shelters and veterinary partners to ensure rapid deployment once thresholds are met

Current Activities (Preparation & Coordination)Partnership Development

  • Finalizing rescue and intake protocols with local shelter partners
  • Strengthening veterinary care networks for triage, treatment, and emergency procedures
  • Coordinating with community volunteers to identify abandoned pets and report high-need locations
  • Mapping high-need areas where abandoned pets are concentrated
  • Planning feeding station logistics and supply chain for emergency nutrition distribution
  • Maintaining a medical prioritization system for injured and high-risk animals
  • Preparing for adoption coordination and community outreach to reduce long-term abandonment
  • Funding gap remains: $7,262 needed to reach the $10,000 goal
  • Escalating crisis: Increasing numbers of abandoned pets as conflict and displacement continue
  • Urgent timeline: Animals face immediate starvation, dehydration, and untreated injuries
  • Resource limitations: Current funding supports preparation and limited response, but not full-scale rescue operations
  • Animal food (35%) – $3,500 for feeding stations and emergency nutrition
  • Veterinary care (30%) – $3,000 for medical treatment and emergency surgeries
  • Shelter support (20%) – $2,000 for temporary housing and safe spaces
  • Operations (15%) – $1,500 for transportation, supplies, and coordination
  • Reach a $5,000 milestone (50% funded) to begin pilot rescue operations
  • Grow to 25+ donors, with a strong focus on expanding the monthly giving program
  • Launch a targeted social media awareness campaign highlighting Lebanon’s abandoned pets
  • Begin limited field operations when the 50% funding threshold is reached
  • Rescue the first 20–30 pets during the pilot phase (food support + medical triage + shelter placement)
  • Target: 200+ abandoned pets in Lebanon conflict zones
  • Services: Emergency food distribution, medical care, shelter support, adoption coordination
  • Community impact: Responsible pet ownership education, reduced stray population, improved community health and compassion

The continued growth in donors shows that more people are recognizing these silent victims of conflict. With $2,738 raised from 13 donors, we are moving closer to the operational threshold needed to begin direct rescue work.

Our local partners are prepared to deploy as soon as funding allows. Every donation helps provide immediate food, urgent veterinary care, and safe shelter for pets left behind—giving them a real second chance at life.

These animals matter. Together, we can save Lebanon’s pets.
