In Kano State, poverty and limited legal awareness prevent thousands from accessing justice. Victims of abuse, unlawful detention, land disputes, and child rights violations often have no legal support. Women, children, and low-income earners are especially affected. Overstretched courts and few legal aid providers worsen delays and discourage action. Without intervention, these citizens remain exposed to prolonged injustice, insecurity, and loss of livelihood.
This project will provide structured legal aid to 500 vulnerable citizens in Kano. Qualified lawyers will offer free consultations, case assessments, and representation for human rights and civil cases. Mediation will resolve family and community disputes quickly. Legal awareness sessions will educate citizens on their rights and options. Partnerships with justice institutions will ensure referrals, accountability, and consistent case follow-up.
The project will strengthen access to justice and human rights protection in Kano State. Beneficiaries will gain legal security, confidence, and knowledge to defend their rights beyond the project period. Communities will experience reduced conflict and improved legal awareness. Over time, the initiative will support a fairer, more inclusive justice system where vulnerable people are protected and the rule of law is reinforced.
