LEONATON plans to provide much needed support to over 3000 families in Northwest Argentina, delivering books, scholarships, and family orientation services, focusing on women and girls, people with disabilities, and seniors.
There are currently more than 30% of households in Northwest Argentina living in poverty, and over 11% living in extreme poverty. COVID-19, political and social unrest, climate change, lack of economic growth and high inflation over the last decade, have had a significant impact on families living in periurban and rural communities.
Fundacion Leon's LEONATON delivers education, medicine, and health care to over 3000 families. All participants recieve social orientation services and connect with our team members, who serve as tutors. Through supportive one-on-one relationships, our tutors help families set and meet goals that enable them to break the cycle of poverty.
LEONATON will help 3000 families rise out of poverty through education and social orientation, giving communities the tools and opportunities to build a better future.
