With thanks to you, we have reached our initial target of $1,250 for a MyLibrary for Atutu Learning Center in Kachin State in Myanmar. This is wonderful. It allows us to build a MyLibrary packed full of thousands of educational resources, giving the girls access to world-class learning materials, science textbooks, hundreds of video lessons, English language learning resources from the British Council, quizzes, games and even a virtual laboratory.
We plan to set up the MyLibrary at Atutu as soon as we can. And with your support, we will keep going, using future funds donated to this project to set up a second library at a learning hub in northern Chin State. The hub will provide an education to around 1,500 school children from 40 villages on the Indo-Myanmar border.
As you may have seen on the news, the country is in a state of huge uncertainty. We are committed to Myanmar and are standing with the people during this time of great distress. We believe that keeping the door of education open is an effective way to keep alight the long-term future of the country. If you’re able to share the story of our work in Myanmar with your network, we’d be incredibly grateful.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for your support in these troubling times.
