Dear friends of CYDD,
A new school year started this autumn and we were able to give hope to 3000 new girl students with the support of our sponsors within and outside of Turkey.
This year we are giving high school scholarships to a total of about 7000 girls; 3000 of them are new comers. We have received about 10000 new applications and could only award scholarships to a third of the applicants. We know that we can never reach 100% of the applicants but our desire is to increase our percentage and number of scholarships every year. And for this we need your increasing support...
Young population of Turkey is increasing above the European rates and we need to educate them and educate them well to reach the contemporary level of living we all dream of- less poverty, more equality and sustainable society.
January 24th was announced as "International Day of Education" by United Nations as we want the whole world to acknowledge that "..education is a human right, a public good and a public responsibility.." (from message of Audrey Azoulay,Director General)..
