Dear donor,
We are into our second school term supporting about 10.500 girls from secondary and high school with scholarships. To further empower these girls from disadvantaged backgrounds who attend public schools, we have started educational support programs. We are also supplying notebook computers to those girls who are attending these online CYDD education programs.
In October, 750 high school students have started the Young Starfish Program which is designed to give them 21st century competencies and now in the final module they are attending seminars in computer coding .
Younger students in secondary school are also attending another online program comprising of seminars on subjects such as math, STEM and introduction to philosophy. The first group of 250 students finished the program during the first school term; the second group of 250 students are now attending the weekly seminars.
Another program was designed to prepare girls for the university exams and this program alone increased the percentage of girls succeeding in the exams from previous year’s 17% to 33% last year. This means last year twice as many senior high school students were able to go on to university.
We wish to offer these programs to more students every year and have set up a special education Project division for this purpose.
We couldn’t have done all this on our own without your support. So thank you…
Kind regards,
