Summer is the time to read interesting books and discuss them with friends. We help our blind readers and their friends in this.
Dear friends!
We are very grateful to you for supporting our project to print books for blind children in Ukraine.
For our children, summer is a time to relax and read interesting books. Therefore, we tried to prepare interesting informative literature for them.
The peculiarity of our books is that they are printed according to the principles of universal design. These books can be read by the whole family. They are available for both blind children and sighted peers, brothers, sisters, and parents. It's so great to read together!
For the smallest readers, our team has prepared an encyclopedia "Touching Nature" (Wild Animals of Ukraine "," Journey to the Age of Dinosaurs ") books: a collection of fairy tales for girls" I embroidered a shirt ", books by Kharkov writer Nikolai Tublaini" Travels of Zakomarik ", Mikhail Slaboshpitsky "Slavko and Zhako", Vitaly Savchenko "Ice Cream Divo".
For teenagers, we have published books on the principles of universal design "Petka and Stegosaurus", a collection of poems by the blind poetess Lyubov Cream "I pray, I rejoice, I live."
For young people, we have published a directory "Successful start".
The Successful Start guide covers the general, organizational and legal framework for the provision of services to promote employment and increase competitiveness in the labor market for young people with severe visual impairments. It contains the legislative and regulatory framework for employment, as well as guidelines for promoting the employment of visually impaired people.
A very important area of work of the SotsIntel enterprise during the summer was the adaptation and printing of textbooks for blind children from different regions of Ukraine who study in secondary schools under the inclusion program. By September 1, children from 10 schools received textbooks.
It is very important for us that blind children are comfortable studying next to classmates who can see well. So that children do not feel that the lack of vision makes them weak and dependent on others.
By September 1, our social enterprise for the adaptation and printing of books for children with severe visual impairments announced a competition for the best readers in Braille. The winners of the competition received sets of encyclopedia books as a gift.
We are happy that the children are looking forward to new books. And we will not disappoint them. We have very interesting plans for the near future. Together with our readers, we will try to unravel the mysteries of the Universe.
