New books and improvements

Dear Friends,

 

 Thank you for your support of our project "Create Braille Books For 1000 Blind Children". Please, take some time to read our 6th  project report. Since  the reporting period, we have done a positive change in our project, and we are pleased to report about it.

 

  1. During the reporting period, we have worked to improve the quality of books.
  2. We have prepared three new book "Transport" - a book for further readingfor blind children"Lessons of the bible", "Math fairy tales " to print Braillepatterned (with universal design).
  3. During the reporting period, we published 75 books in Braillewhich gavefree library for blind children in KharkovKiev, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye,Vinnitsa, Uzhgorod, Kherson.
  4. In Kharkov 25 preschool children received books in Braille on the Ukrainianlanguage as a gift.
  5. We signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kharkiv information andresource center for the preparation of visually impaired children and their parents towards inclusive education.
  6. We entered into an agreement with the Kiev Institute of Special Educationto work together on the development of teaching aids in Braille andembossed patterns.
  7. Our experts provided technical support to the organizers of the All-Ukrainian project "Read on equal terms" in preparation for the printing of books in Braille.
  8. Due to the difficult financial and political situation in Ukraine, we were not able to independently raise funds for the project. But in book production in the reporting period 15 volunteers helped us. Four foreign volunteers from Italy, Germany, Romania participated in the production of books for blind children.
  9. The results of this project in July were presented at the International School of parental skills for families kotoryve educate blind children "Mom'sschool." All participants received a gift of books in Brailledesigned andprinted as a result of the implementation of our project.
  10. Now we are working on Braille book "Sputnik Primer" for further reading in the period of learning to read.
  11. We wrote an additional project aimed at training professionals to create Braille books for blind children. The project includes the study of international experience in the printing of books in Braille with embossed designs.

 We are keen on positive change in lives of the Blind children in Ukraine and we do our best to make them enjoy their rights fully!
