We aim to ensure that advanced medical treatment, diagnostic testing and social aid are provided to Lithuanian children with cancer, so that they feel less of both physical and mental pain.
Every year more and more children are diagnosed with cancer. As a result they have to undergo lengthy treatment. Due to the downfall in the economy not all of them receive required drugs, medical products and palliative equipment on time and thus the social well-being of families significantly deteriorates. There is no time for waiting when treating cancer, because the delay in providing medical and social services of good quality significantly decreases chances of effective treatment.
We will ensure that children with cancer are provided with the most advanced drugs, medical products and diversified social support. This will ensure the right of each child to medical treatment of good quality and increase the chances of recovery.
Medical treatment and social aid of good quality will improve children's physical state (quality of life not reduced due to the lack of medical products and drugs) and psychological well-being and they will be better able to recover from the disease.
