Let's Help More Than 100 Children with Cancer

We are sincerely thankful for all of our sponsors, because, thanks to their kind hearts, our Fund was able to implement new projects and continue working on the projects that have ensured many kinds of help to children with oncological illnesses since the early days. Improving the treatment quality for the young cancer patients has always been one of the most important goals of Rugute.

The Childhood Cancer Fund Rugute continues to support families that face financial difficulties due to their child’s illness. The team of Childhood Cancer Fund Rugute is happy to report on what has been done in the last several months. Every month the Fund provides such families with financial support and necessary medical supplies. Thanks to your generous hearts, during the past few months the fund received $ 1585,06 in donations.

Your donations were much needed for the children and it was used for these causes:

• 24 500 Eur – for financial support provided to families;

• 12 685 Eur – for buying needed medications;

• 2 376 Eur – for central vein catheters and their specific needles;

• 1 076 Eur – for providing oral care supplies;

• 2 214 Eur – for various nursing equipment and supplies;

• 4 700 Eur – for genetic testing.

We are thankful, most sincerely, for all of the sponsors of GlobalGiving who donate money to Lithuanian children with oncological illnesses. Your assistance allows us to improve the physical and psychological welfare of the little cancer patients… and knowing that you have faith in our mission keeps us moving forward. We are eternally grateful!

Another three months have passed, and we are happy to report about what has been done during this time. We once again strived for the optimal use of the funds that the kind people donated to Childhood Cancer Fund Rugute via GlobalGiving.We are grateful to all who contributed to the $ 3137,82 support for children with oncological illnesses through the GlobalGiving system during the months from December to February.

Childhood Cancer Fund Rugute continues to support families with children that have been diagnosed with oncological illnesses. During the months of December 2023, January, and February of 2024, the Fund provided both monthly and non-recurring charity of 23.000 EUR to the families that had addressed their financial needs in their requests of support. The families were entitled to use the charity money to purchase necessary medical care and food, and to cover traveling expenses and other costs that they had to cover due to their children’s illnesses. The money that the Fund provided to these families eased their financial burdens and, at the same time, ensured better physical and psychological well-being of the little patients.

In the months of December-February, the fund bought medicine for 10.217 EUR necessary for the treatment of children with oncological illnesses. We also provided nursing care products - mouthwashes, skin care products, medical adhesive remover, which is essential for gently removing the patch – all for 6.049 EUR.

Every time we look back, we see the change in the lives of the children with oncological illnesses, and we know that we would not have done all this without the help we received via GlobalGiving. Thank you all, the kind-hearted people, who donate money to our organization via GlobalGiving. More than a hundred families received assistance in their uneasy fight with malignant illnesses.
