Let me introduce you to Allie, a 21 year-old college student, who has been in our program for several years. We don’t often hear from our older students and it’s exciting to receive an update on Allie and her family.
Allie’s life was so sad when we first met her and her siblings. Her father had disappeared and her mother was not able to work. The children’s basic needs were not being met, not to mention their medical needs due to their HIV+ status. The children were not able to attend school and often went to bed with an empty stomach.
Since joining our project, life has turned around for this sweet family. Allie finished her secondary education and is now attending college. She is an active member of the youth support group and takes her drugs as prescribed. Her hopes and dreams are within reach and her mother is thrilled that she has been educated. Your support of this project has made a huge impact on this family and many more in their community.
The team here at the American Foundation for Children with AIDS thanks you for supporting this project and the work we do for the children in Africa. As you start to make decisions regarding your 2019 giving, please keep us in mind so we can continue our good work. We wish you a new year full of many blessings and as much hope as you have shared with us. If you would like to learn even more about what we do or how you can meet some of the children you have helped, please contact Tanya Weaver at tweaver@AFCAids.org.
