On September, 28th we will be commemorating World Rabies Day and we need your help to continue fighting this disease in Venezuela. We want to vaccinate 1,000 dogs before the end of the year, with a special focus in Zulia State where rabies is an endemic disease.
Due to the crisis, rabies vaccine are very scarce and expensive for the regular Venezuelan citizen which leads to millions of unvaccinated animals in our country.
This year, we have set a very challenging goal - to vaccinate 1,000 dogs before the end of the year, with a special focus in Zulia State where rabies is an endemic disease. We will be targeting mainly stray dogs, but will also vaccinate pets as most haven't received a shot in at least 3 years due to the prices.
Rabies are very easy to keep under control by vaccinating, and very easy as well to get out of control. Rabies have a direct impact on the quality of life not only of the dogs that have the disease but also of those that don't, as stigma and fear lead to mistreatment. We can prevent that by vaccinating.
