It is almost Christmas

History of Life

Hello, my name is Alex (no real name) and thanks to your contributions, today my reality is very different from my past.

I was born in March 2005, but my biological parents abandoned me, they had many problems, such as drug addiction and lived on the street, I was also born with a disease called syphilis, I still need treatment today, and as a consequence I suffer from kidney failure.
An aunt and her husband's have always taken care of me, they became my parents, supporting me in different situations, due to diagnoses such as schizophrenia and kidney failure, the health center and the visit to doctors have become part of of my life, despite all the effort that my parents (uncles) have made to keep me in good health and get ahead, conditions such as: their advanced age, lack of money and place of residence, my father took me with him to work in the buses, to get away from the problems of the street in my neighborhood, besides the bullying of which I was a victim in my school.
After 12 years between hospitals, buses from the city center and many medications, we found ourselves with the Corporación Superarse, where we had the opportunity to learn about the service and support that they could give to a child like me and my whole family, since then, I have been able to return to school again, leaving my father with the tranquility of finding me in a safe space and so he has the opportunity to work more easily, today thanks to this place I have created links with boys and girls of my age, generating the development of my skills, and the reflection, that in spite of so many challenges that life has put me, the desire to build a future where I am the protagonist, is being created from this, my new present.
I give infinite thanks to the Corporation Overcome where I receive love, support and understanding and where my parents are calm because I am in a place where I guarantee and watch over my rights ..

This year in Corporacion Superarse....

During this year, we carry out many activities, this will be a tour for each month.

In January, we present the annual planning and the projects to be carried out with the children during the year, with the collaboration of young people from Mexico, Panama and Brazil, as well as the management of agreements with institutions such as Inder, Comfama and Cefa, to guarantee recreation, sports and social service programs.

In the month of February, the house was maintained to improve the quality of the facilities. An agreement was created with the Museum of Antioquia, for the potentialization of skills, artistic, sports, cultural and academic for children and adolescents.

In March through the Inder, children and adolescents participated in a Lego Festival and a new agreement was started with the Medellín Dance Network, with which classes begin in the middle of April in the evenings.

The months of April and May were full of recreational and recreational activities, such as: emergency drill, walk to Parque las Aguas, celebration of the day of the child, addressed important issues such as the adequate resolution of conflicts, behavior and proper handling of cutlery in the dining room, significantly advance in the processes of dance and theater where they develop their skills and artistic and cultural potential through pedagogical proposals where the application of values, coexistence and respect for the other and everything that surrounds us.

In June and July activities for vacations were scheduled and we celebrated, Family Day with presentations of talents of children. In the sports area, children are enrolled in soccer in the Amistad Tournament. In August we commemorate the Day of Antioquia.

For the month of September, children and adolescents participate in the Celebration of the Book and Culture Festival, in the Botanical Garden of Medellín, encouraging reading among the participants. It also highlights the celebration of love and friendship where throughout the month. In October, the "Dulzura Day" was held, where recreational and recreational activities were shared and the talents of the children were presented.

For the month of December they are developing the closings of the different institutional projects and planning the celebrations of Christmas where we hope the bonding of all the donors and benefactors of the boys and the girls to have a Christmas full of joy and satisfaction for all of them ... we hope for your support¡¡

"Dreams continue"

Pocholo

• The Externado modality currently serves 51 children and young people between the ages of 7 and 16 who are at psychosocial risk, living in all neighborhoods of Medellín

Academic, nutritional, workshops:
• Experiential activity was carried out, within the Good Treatment project; to prevent Bullying in all areas of coexistence. Children and adolescents recognize that in some cases they have been victims of this problem or others have used it with partners.

• In the project of Sexual Education, the meaning of the four R's (Remember, Recognize, Reject and Report) was worked out to know different tools to protect against sexual abuse.

• "The role of the Father within the project of life" is a joint work with the family or referent, identified the main functions that parents have with their children, and could be visualized through the verbalizations of the children and adolescents who in some cases have difficulties in the duties of parents such as care, protection and communication, leaving this empty and creating risk factors in the stages of development of their life cycle.

*The celebration of Grandparents Day was held in order to recognize the grandparents and grandmothers of the children and young people of the modality. They were recognized for their accompaniment, dedication and dedication; in addition to the important role they play in raising children

• Ten children and a girl were linked to the soccer tournament "La Amistad" in the children's category, participating in the inauguration and the first two matches, where they observed motivation and love for soccer, participating in a very positive way.

"Pocholo" is a Great soccer player and tells us his story:

I'm Jhon, I come from Charco, Nariño, since I was 2 years old I like soccer, thanks to my uncle who supported me so that football is my passion, my paternal grandfather called me "Pocholo", he thought I was going to be a great player.
When we went to Medellin at the age of 4, my mother enrolled me in a team called "great dreamers", where they teach us that any child can fulfill the dream he always has and more when working with discipline to reach it. In this sport I have met two people who have marked my life positively, One is Leonel Messi who through good treatment and example, has strengthened my ability and confidence, and also my coach "Coca" who has stressed to me the importance of self-control and respect for the whole team, which has led me to become not only a good player, but currently the captain of the team, which has filled me with immense joys and has kept me from situations that do not contribute to my personal growth.
Finally, I must thank soccer not only that I am forming to become what I want, which is to be a professional footballer, but to have introduced myself to those who today, are more than my partners of passion, since for me they are my brothers.
I am also part of the micro team of Externado Corporación Superarse, we participate in the "Tournament of Friendship" where in addition to the sport we are inculcated values and healthy coexistence, I thank the Corporation and all the people and companies that support us .

"Recreational and Fun Vacations"

Vacations activities

The Externado modality currently serves 52 children and young people between the ages of 7 and 16 who are at psychosocial risk, living in all neighborhoods and communes of Medellín, mainly near the center of the city.

• Children and adolescents celebrated the "DAY OF THE CHILD, THE GIRL AND THE RECREATION", in the recognition and identification of their rights with recreational and sports activities, as well as with pedagogical exits to the Park of the Waters and the Sports Unit of Volleyball in the Stadium, enjoying these spaces.

• Active participation of children and adolescents in recreational holiday activities during the school break of Easter and in the month of June where users showed punctuality and enjoyment for the proposed activities.

• Children benefit through Inder, with the project "While we return home" where a professional sports recreation, recreation and strengthening of multiple intelligences, users also visited city spaces such as the Atanasio Girardot Sports Unit And recreational parks.

• With the Cuidad de Medellín Theater Network, develop artistic skills and potentials, the children made presentations with parents, staff of the corporation and friendly institutions.

• With the library, they linked to the proposed activities, giving continuity and stimulation of multiple intelligences, through group games, plastic arts and body expression in order to establish assertive relationships in daily life.

• Within the "Learning to Live with Others" project, children's and adolescents' sense of belonging, respect for others, punctuality, traffic rules and behavior in the different spaces continues to be strengthened. , The time of entry to the Corporation and discipline as factors of a healthy coexistence.

• From the "Learning to Study Project", school reinforcement actions were intensified. School leveling activities were carried out, framed in the reinforcement of logical-mathematical processes, languages and Spanish subjects of greater complexity for children and adolescents. • With the group of children and adolescents, a group workshop was held called "bingo of food", which demonstrated adequate participation and assimilation of basic concepts of food and nutrition.

• Training was provided to the group of food handlers on storage and temperature management, contributing to the improvement in the provision of food service.

• A group workshop was held with the group of children and adolescents within the framework of the health promotion and disease prevention project "addressing the theme: healthy lifestyles, demonstrating the assimilation of basic concepts.

• The health center achieved the appointment of appointments in the program of growth and development and healthy young, allowing to monitor the physical health of children and adolescents. In addition, dental follow-up appointments have been assigned, and oral health status has been assessed.

Activities with families

• The Social Work area made a collaborative with tips and recommendations for parents, mothers and / or significant adults of children and adolescents to have them present in their parenting process, aspects such as management of the norm, Implementation of authority, the incentives and sanctions were the object of this activity.

• From the area of Social Work, the Family School, led by the Psychology area, where the theme "Critical practices, norms and limits" was developed, showed empathy and motivation for the acquisition of tools to put into practice in The families on the part of the assistants.

• Progress is made in the realization of home visits to know the housing, relational and family realities in order to support them at all levels.
