The Mediterranean storm 'Daniel' has caused heavy rain that poured into coastal towns of Libya. The heavy rain caused two dams to break, causing an enormous flash flood that swept into residential areas, including those in Derna. The Mayor of Derna reported that 2,000 people have been killed and as many as 5-6,000 people are still missing. Many buildings have also collapsed. It is a major catastrophe. The government of Libya and the Libyan Red Cross is on the field tending to the survivors.
Many people are displaced due to the massive flash flood in the town of Derna. Many of their homes and belongings have been swept. As many as 2000 people are reported killed, while 5-6,000 are still missing. Most of the survivors are left without belongings, and in need of food, medicine, clothing, etc
