Overview

From October 2025 to January 2026, Japan Heart continued delivering medical care, education, and psychosocial support in Myanmar despite ongoing challenges. This report highlights activities ranging from pediatric cardiac initiatives and mobile medical outreach to educational achievements at Dream Train and international academic collaboration. Through every effort, we remained committed to reaching patients who cannot access care and nurturing the next generation with hope and opportunity.

Key Updates & Achievements

Myanmar Pediatric Cardiac Care: Reducing Inequality by Place of Birth (October 15, 2025)

Japan Heart continued its mission to address disparities in access to pediatric cardiac treatment. By supporting children who would otherwise struggle to receive specialized care, the team reinforced the importance of sustained international collaboration and local capacity building.

Achievement: More children gained access to life-saving treatment pathways, strengthening hope for families facing limited healthcare options.

Dream Train October Activity Report – Building Daily Stability and Growth (October 28, 2025)

Throughout October, children at Dream Train engaged in daily learning, group activities, and life-skills development while living in a safe and supportive environment. Staff continued to provide educational guidance and emotional care, helping each child build confidence and resilience.

Achievement: Consistent daily support created a stable foundation that enables children to focus on education and personal growth despite uncertain social conditions.

Specialized Pediatric Cardiac Project – Toward Equal Treatment Opportunities (November 9, 2025)

The pediatric cardiac initiative highlighted how medical inequality affects children born in underserved regions. Through training and collaboration, Japan Heart advanced sustainable systems that allow complex treatments to become more accessible.

Achievement: The project deepened local expertise and expanded possibilities for future advanced pediatric procedures.

Dream Train Students Recognized for Academic Excellence (November 29, 2025)

Twenty Dream Train students studying at private schools were honored as high achievers, reflecting their dedication despite social and economic challenges.

Achievement: Educational success demonstrates how stable living environments and emotional support can transform children’s futures.

Football Exchange with Former Japan National Team Player Hashimoto & Women’s Champions League Viewing (December 13, 2025)

Children at Dream Train participated in a soccer exchange and watched international women’s football, expanding their horizons beyond daily life.

Achievement: Sports and cultural exposure fostered confidence, teamwork, and inspiration among the children.

Mobile Medical Outreach by the Wachet Medical Team (December 28, 2025)

Medical teams traveled to remote communities where patients cannot easily reach hospitals, providing consultations and essential care.

Achievement: The outreach ensured continuity of healthcare access for vulnerable populations and reinforced trust within local communities.

Dream Train Christmas: Joy and Spiritual Support in Yangon (January 11, 2026)

Children and staff celebrated Christmas together, creating moments of warmth and emotional healing during challenging times.

Achievement: Community-centered events strengthened emotional resilience and a sense of belonging.

Presentation at the Japanese Society for Wound Healing (January 14, 2026)

A Myanmar-based Japan Heart staff member, Ms. Kono, participated in the Japanese Society for Wound Healing and presented clinical experiences from Myanmar. By sharing frontline challenges and treatment approaches, the team contributed to international knowledge exchange while strengthening professional networks between Japan and Myanmar.

Achievement: This opportunity highlighted the growing leadership of local staff and reinforced Japan Heart’s commitment to advancing sustainable medical expertise beyond borders.

Upcoming Goals

    Continue expanding mobile medical outreach to reach patients in medically isolated areas.

    Strengthen pediatric and specialized care programs through training and knowledge exchange.

    Support Dream Train children’s education, emotional well-being, and opportunities for growth despite ongoing instability.

    Deepen collaboration between local and international medical professionals to sustain long-term healthcare delivery.
