Progress Report On Life-Saving Medical in Myanmar

Progress Overview 

In 2024 October, Dream Train has made remarkable strides, especially in education and athletics. Many children excelled in their studies, with five successfully entering universities and others engaging in vocational training. Despite challenges such as aging infrastructure and increasing numbers of children, Dream Train celebrated its 15th year anniversary, it was clear how far we have come, despite the challenges that remain. The support that we received from our partners, volunteers and donators had been nothing short of incredible and it continued to fuel our journey forward. Our renovation project is a testament to our commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to dream, grow and learn.  

Highlight Updates and Achievements 

1. Acedemic and Athletic Success  

• Five of them enrolled in universities and two of them enrolled in institutions 

• Many children participated in vocational training, with dream train facility providing solid educational support 

• The annual sports event was a highlight, with soccer, badminton and fun competitions like biscuit eating and lime-balancing races, bringing out the spirit of teamwork and laughter. In BBQ event, the older children taught the younger one how to preparethe food. It is a beautiful moment of sharing and community. 

2. Heartfelt Commitment to healing at Watchet Charity Hospital  

• Despite the ongoing challenges and instability in Myanmar, our medical teams continued to show extraordinary dedications. In October, 53adult and 23 pediatric surgeries were successfully performed, bringing hope and healing to those who otherwise have no other place to turn to. It is humbling to know that, through your support, we can offer critical care.  

• In December, 26 cleft lip and palate surgeries and 79 other surgeries at Watchet Hospital were completed, providing life-changing treatment to many. This could not have been possible without the commitment of our volunteers, donors and local medical healthcare staff who continued to work tirelessly despite any difficulties. 

3. Celebrating 15 years of Dream and Hope  

• This year Dream Train celebrated its 15th year anniversary _a significant milestone that reflects the resilience of the children, the dedication of our staffantheunwavering support from our partners. We are filled with gratitude as we look back on how far we have come, from humble beginning to where we are today.  

• As a part of commitment to providing a safe and supporting environment for the children, we began renovationsto improve the facility. These changes will help us to create a space where the children can learn, grow and thrive, with opportunities that will last a lifetime.

• Our deepest gratitude goes to Albirex Niigata Myanmar Soccer School, whose continued support has made such a profound impact on the children. Your soccer training, equipment donations, and life lessons go beyond the field, inspiring the children to dream bigger and work harder. 

• To Dr. Tanaka and Accelerator Kitchen, thank you for your inspiring workshop that ignited a spark of curiosity and creativity in our children. The joy and excitement they felt as they learned about physics and AI is something they will carry with them always. 

• To our dedicated volunteers and donors, your generosity makes everything we do possible. It’s because of you that we can provide life-saving surgeries at Watchet Charity Hospital and give hope to those in desperate need. 

• A special thank you to our local staff who continue to work under such challenging circumstances with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of both the children and the community.
