Dear friends,
thank you so much for supporting Ukrainian kids with cancer.
The saying goes that misfortunes never come singly. 15-year-old Vadym was born with cerebral palsy but his parents took good care of him and he never felt inferior. He went to an ordinary school and did all the tasks like other children. He was a good pupil. The only things that made him different from the others were problems with his feet and slow speech. However, he learnt to live with his condition and to be successful. He was happy but one day everything changed.
Vadym’s mom started worrying because her son didn’t grow up as it was expected in his age. When they went to the doctor the boy was diagnosed with hormonal problems and was prescribed with a lot of medicines. As his mother said, Vadym had to take a handful of medicines every day. But six months passed and there was no result. Moreover, the boy started feeling weak and drowsy, his eyesight deteriorated.
Vadym was hospitalized after he had convulsions. Only then he heard a terrible diagnosis: a brain tumor. The boy who hadn’t given up because of inborn cerebral palsy wasn’t going to give up even when the second diseases attacked him. But treatment requires a lot of resources and the hospitals in Ukraine almost never provide everything that is necessary. Zaporuka helped with medicines and medical materials that were not available. Vadym underwent a surgery to remove the tumor at the Institute of Neurosurgery in Kyiv. Thanks to your support Vadym can continue fighting for his life.
From July to September Zaporuka Foundation helped 45 children like Vadym. You can see them following the link. All these kids wouldn’t be able to continue treatment without other people’s support.
Thank you so much for your generous contributions!
