Many rural hospitals have no outside lighting, making it hard for patients and staff to move around at night. This project will install 40 solar streetlights each at 10 rural hospitals and surrounding streets. The lights will help patients find their way, help workers respond to emergencies, and keep the area safer. They work without fuel, using free sunlight to charge during the day. These solar lights will bring better safety and visibility to rural health centers and their surroundings.
Rural hospitals often have no outdoor lights due to poor power supply. At night, patients struggle to walk into the compound safely in the dark. Staff find it hard to move between buildings during emergencies. Lack of light also increases the risk of theft, animal attacks, and injuries. Without light, these hospitals cannot serve their communities well when it is nighttime.
It will install 40 solar-powered streetlights at each of the 10 rural hospitals and nearby streets. The lights will switch on automatically at dusk and run all night without interruption. They will be placed near hospital entrances, maternity units, wards, walkways, and nearby access roads. Staff and patients will move more safely and attend to emergencies without delay. The solar system does not need fuel or grid electricity and requires minimal upkeep.
Patients will feel safer visiting hospitals at night, even during emergencies. Hospital staff will respond more quickly without fear of injury in the dark. The risk of theft and snakebites will reduce around hospital grounds. Better lighting can also attract more people to use rural health services. In time, this can lead to better health and safety in rural communities.
