Dear prospective Donors,
In many rural areas of Nigeria, hospitals and health centers are left in complete darkness after sunset. Power supply is unreliable, and patients arriving at night often struggle to find their way. This not only discourages families from seeking care during emergencies but also places health workers at risk while carrying out their duties. A well-lit hospital compound can mean the difference between safety and danger, between prompt care and delay.
Our plan is to install solar streetlights in 10 rural hospitals. These lights will brighten hospital compounds, walkways, and entry points, making them safe and functional throughout the night. They will also reduce reliance on expensive and polluting generators. By using solar power, the hospitals will have a reliable source of light without the worry of fuel shortages or high costs.
Although no donations have been received yet, the project is ready to begin as soon as funds are available. Every contribution will go directly into purchasing and installing solar streetlights, bringing safety and reliability to hospitals that serve some of Nigeria’s most disadvantaged communities.
We sincerely thank you for considering this project. Together, we can make rural hospitals safer places for patients, mothers, and health workers at night.
Warm regards,
Joy Ochogwu Etubi
