Dear donors,
We are reaching out for your support to launch the “Light Up 10 Rural Hospitals with Solar Streetlights” project. No donations have been received yet, and your contribution is critical to help us make these hospitals safer and more accessible at night.
Many rural hospitals have no outdoor lighting, making it difficult for patients to navigate the grounds after dark. Staff face challenges moving between wards during emergencies, and the lack of light increases the risk of accidents, theft, and even animal attacks. These conditions prevent hospitals from fully serving their communities during nighttime hours.
This project will install 40 solar-powered streetlights at each of 10 rural hospitals, covering entrances, maternity units, wards, walkways, and nearby streets. The lights charge during the day and automatically turn on at dusk, providing reliable illumination throughout the night without using fuel or electricity from the grid. Minimal maintenance will be required, ensuring long-term operation.
By improving visibility, patients can safely access hospitals after dark, and staff can respond more efficiently to emergencies. The presence of lighting will also deter theft and reduce the risk of injuries or snakebites around hospital grounds. Over time, brighter and safer hospital environments can encourage greater use of health services, supporting better outcomes for rural communities.
Your support can help us bring this vital infrastructure to hospitals that desperately need it. Every donation contributes to safer nights, quicker emergency responses, and stronger trust in rural healthcare.
Warm regards,
