For 25 years, Live and Learn in Kenya International has believed in one simple truth: when children are given education, care, encouragement, and hope, lives can change forever.
What began as a small initiative has grown into a thriving educational community in Nakuru, Kenya, supporting vulnerable children through schooling, nutritious meals, medical care, and sponsorship. Over the years, thousands of children have been given the chance to build a better future.
In the Baruti slums and surrounding communities, many families struggle to afford even the basic costs of education. School fees, uniforms, books, meals, and supplies are often simply out of reach. Sponsorship changes that. It gives children the opportunity to attend school with dignity, stability, and confidence.
Through sponsorship, children receive far more than lessons in a classroom. They receive learning materials, healthy meals, medical care, sports and creative activities, and the support of caring adults who believe in them. Just as important is the environment itself. A colorful, safe, and pedagogically sensible atmosphere—with welcoming classrooms and fun playgrounds—helps children feel secure, inspired, and ready to learn.
One of the greatest signs of LLK’s success is that some of our current teachers were once children in our own kindergarten classrooms. They were sponsored, educated, and encouraged—and today they have returned to help guide the next generation. That is the true power of sponsorship.
Sponsorship not only changes the life of one child. It strengthens families, inspires communities, and opens doors that once seemed impossible to reach.
As we celebrate 25 years of Live and Learn in Kenya International, we thank every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and friend who has walked this journey with us. Every meal served, every classroom filled, every playground laugh, and every child given hope has been possible because someone cared.
Asante Sana – Thank You
With heartfelt gratitude,
Brique Zeiner
