Live and Learn in Kenya Int'l Sponsorship Program

Would this very special day in the lives of these two students ever have ever come to be if it weren't for Live and Learn in Kenya International? Most likely not. As very young children Dorcas and James joined the Live and Learn in Kenya School Kindergarten. They proved themselves to be outstanding and hardworking students. Dorcas graduated from college with good grades. James graduated from university with very good grades. The once little boy whose father had died when he was very young and lived in extreme poverty with his grandmother now has a degree in Information Technology - and we all know how needed IT specialists are around the world. He has the world at his feet.

They are two of many students who have graduated colleges and universities over the past years with Live and Learn in Kenya International standing beside them all the way. And there will be many more to come because of sponsors from around the world who really CARE!

Of course, not every child can become an IT specialist, teacher, or doctor. But every child has the chance to be all that they can be with our help - with your help!

When I walk into a shack in the Nakuru slums to meet the family of a child who has recently been registered on the Live and Learn in Kenya International program I do not see a sickly, hungry, pinched little child - I see a future teacher - doctor - lawyer - electrician - hairdresser - mechanic - President of Kenya!

If, if, if - if only a child was given what every human being has rights to have - food, water, education, loving care - they wouldn't be out on the streets begging, stealing, selling their little bodies, or working for a smidge of small coins to buy a cob of maize to ease their hunger a bit - or even worse - an aerosol can to inhale and forget the world and all of its horrors for a little while!

Children are the world's future and we all have the responsibility to provide them with everything that they need to become fine, educated, caring adults. They will all pass it forward in some way - either to their own children and grandchildren one day - or... who knows - maybe as a teacher, doctor, lawyer, electrician, hairdresser,  mechanic - or even the President of Kenya!

That's the wonderful thing about helping children to be all that they can be - you just never know what they really can be when given the chance.

At Live and Learn in Kenya International we have taken the responsibility into our many, many hands to make this possible for each and every child who turns up at our gate!
