Challenge

In KwaZulu-Natal, many of our children live in extreme poverty, with little access to food, clean sanitation or any decent education. Most of our children don't have access to wifi and have never seen a computer before. They learn out of old, worn out textbooks, read off of black-boards and sit on the floor throughout lessons. In lockdown this situation has been worsened. With no access to laptops and phones, online classes are impossible.

Solution

Atlas's DigiBus project takes old buses, and transforms them into mobile, digital classrooms, that work to improve education opportunities for children in the developing world. Fitted with everything from laptops, screens and Wi-Fi, to anti-viral misting systems and CCTV cameras, the DigiBus makes a safe and inspiring place for our children to learn skills that are advantageous in today's economy.

Long-Term Impact

In supporting us deliver a DigiBus to these children in South Africa, you could give as many as 10,000 children, in 11 schools, across 2 townships the opportunity to get hands-on experience with computers and digital learning every week.
