Progress continues in the Resilient Housing Initiative! In December of 2019 we had arrived at 30 homes rebuilt through this program, and we are proud to report that another home will be complete by the end of March!
RHI is a collaboration between 3 nonprofit organizations (Love City Strong, the St. John Community Foundation, and the St. John Angel Network), 3 dedicated St. John-based construction companies, and dozens of St. John businesses across multiple sectors all working to rebuild homes damaged or destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria at low or no cost to the homeowner.
All of the homes being rebuilt by RHI belong to full-time St. John residents, with priority given to those who are a member of one or more of the following categories: Seniors, families with young children and infants, and individuals with a disability or chronic health condition.
Thank you to the many donors and supporters who have contributed to RHI through GlobalGiving or one of our other platforms. Our hope is to have 40 homes completed by the end of 2020, and your continuous generosity will be crucial to our success.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
