Project Report | Jul 20, 2020
Double Your Impact

By Ryan West | Foundation Administrator

In the last 6 months, the impact of COVID-19 has caused a global shift in the way that people conduct business, care for their families, and envision their future. We at Love City Strong have done our best to restructure our programming to ensure the safety and security of our staff and clients, while working diligently to fulfill the goals and commitments of each project.

While work was suspended on the Resilient Housining Initiative (RHI) for 3 months this year due to safety concerns surrounding COVID-19, we are pleased to report that our jobsites have resumed, and 5 new rebuilds have been completed!

Now, thanks to a generous gift by one of our longtime supporters and donors, we are even closer to completing our original goal of 40 rebuilt homes.

Today we are inviting you to take part in a new Matching Campaign for the Resilient Housing Initiative. From July 1 to September 30, 2020 all contributions to RHI up to $250,000 will be matched by Kenny Chesney's Love for Love City Foundation.

Employees of Love for Love City worked alongside our St. John-based construction crews on the first 30 homes in RHI in 2018 and 2019. We are so thankful to have had their team's time, dedication, and expertise on these rebuilds, which allowed us to manage several jobsites across the island simultaneously in those first 2 years.

Although their commitment of providing additional labor ended at the end of 2019, their commitment to RHI remains as strong as ever with this generous offer to match donations during the peak of the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season, when it is mor eimportant than ever to ensure that seniors and families with young children have safe, stable places to call home.

We hope that you will consider contributing to RHI during this Matching Campaign so that your generosity can go even farther. Thank you to our many donors and supporters that have helped take RHI this far. We couldn't do it without you!
