Last month, we announced that an incredible gift from Kenny Chesney’s Love for Love City Foundation had been made to the Resilient Housing Initiative (RHI).
From July 1st through September 30th, Love for Love City agreed to match all contributions up to $250,000 to Love City Strong in order to help us achieve our goal of rebuilding 40 homes across the island of St. John.
We are immensely grateful for this offer, and pleased to report that since this announcement was made, we have thus far raised $4,000 thanks to over 20 individual donors!
The collective upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has forced everyone throughout the world to reconsider the familiar structure of their lives, and reimagine the ways they will function within new parameters. At LCS, we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to unexpected challenges while maintaining a positive outlook and remaining steadfast in our convictions.
We remain dedicated to completing the RHI project as safely and efficiently as we can, and our enthusiasm for the project has been reinforced by the outpouring of generosity from our donors during this matching campaign.
Currently, 35 homes of our 40 homes goal have been safely rebuilt, and we will continue until our goal has been achieved.
Thank you for keeping Love City Strong and the community of St. John in your hearts. Please feel free to share this message with others, and help make donations made to us go even further during this matching campaign. With your continued support, we are confident that we can finish what we set out to do, and bring even more St. John residents home.
