As many of you are aware, in March we made the difficult decision to put a hold on new builds in the Resilient Housing Initiative (RHI). This decision was not made lightly, but we believe that the health and safety of our clients, our contractors, and our team must remain our top priority.
In accordance with the phased reopening of the territory, we now feel confident that we can resume this project with all the appropriate social distancing measures observed, and ample personal protective equipment.
In July, we launched a matching campaign thanks to the generous offer from Kenny Chesney's Love for Love City Foundation. From July 1st through September 30th, all donations up to $250,000 will be matched in order to complete the final 5 homes in this program.
Thanks to the generosity of over 20 new and longstanding donors during this campaign, we are excited to announce that two new homes are now under construction!
Thank you for keeping Love City Strong and the community of St. John in your hearts. Please feel free to share this message with others, and help make donations made to us go even further in the final weeks of our matching campaign.
With your continued support, we are confident that we can finish what we set out to do, and bring even more St. John residents home.
