Dear Donors,

At the end of July, Women for Conservation was honored to participate in the Fiesta Del Mar in Santa Marta, Colombia, celebrating the city’s 500th year. The Fiesta Del Mar is an annual celebration of the city’s history, culture, and connection to the sea, and this year, the celebration was dedicated to environmental conservation.

We were lucky to have our Rana Chiva, our travelling environmental education classroom, be part of the vibrant parade through the city. The float was led by our presidents Sara Inés Lara and Isabella Cortés Lara, spreading the energy of environmental conservation through the streets. Additionally, we hosted educational activities for children throughout the weeklong celebration. It was heartwarming to see the children passionately throw themselves into environmental education, playing games, making art, and celebrating the profound beauty of Colombia’s landscape.

Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to continue providing world-changing conservation education to over 40,000 young Colombian people through the Rana Chiva. We believe that education sparks passion and a sense of responsibility that has the power to inspire action. Not to mention, through this initiative, we expose young people to new opportunities they may not have access to otherwise in their rural communities.

Through supporting this project, you are helping inspire young people to become a generation full of compassion and respect for the environment, shaping a future where humans and nature can coexist in harmony. This project is close to our hearts, and we are so glad you have chosen to be a part of it.

We are proud to be able to share this news with you, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sincerely,

The Women for Conservation Team.
