Dear Friends

I am happy to share our newest updates from our project, Conservation education for 60,000 Colombian youths. Back in July, the Rana Chiva participated in Santa Marta’s Fiesta Del Mar, sharing the spirit of conservation education with thousands of attendees! Since then, we have held over 25 more engagements, visiting schools and reaching over 3,000 children and young people with our message about the importance of native birds and habitats, with more visits planned for December.

We have been spreading awareness about the importance of endemic species and local habitats through interactive games and activities. We also teach students and families about how they can integrate sustainable practices into their households, such as composting, recycling, and planting home gardens.

Environmental education for young people has a multitude of positive effects. For example, building stronger relationships with nature creates more resilience by providing students with resources to relieve anxiety and connect with others. Environmental education fosters deeper care for the environment, helping students grow into a generation that lives in harmony with nature. Many of the schools we visit are located in rural and low-income areas that would not otherwise have the resources to provide this type of education to their students — and your donations make it possible for us to provide it to them.

Thank you so much for supporting our project; we could not do it without you.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Women for Conservation Team
