When we look at the world right now, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the crisis. Millions of children are displaced, caught in the middle of conflict, or pushed to the absolute margins by poverty. But at our organisation, we have never been about trying to fix everything all at once. We believe in looking at the child right in front of us and asking: What do they need today to be safe, healthy, and back in school?
Over the last few months, your support of this general solidarity fund has allowed us to do exactly that. Because this fund is flexible, it gives us the power to act fast when a family hits a breaking point.
Here is exactly what your generosity has achieved recently through our pillars of solidarity:
Keeping Roots Secure: We’ve stepped in with rent support for women-led families who were on the verge of losing their shelter. For a displaced mother and her children, a stable room with a locking door makes all the difference. It means safety, routine, and a place to breathe.
Fuelling the Mind: We’ve removed the barriers to education. Your donations have covered school supplies, books, and public transport expenses so that children who have already lost months or years of learning can get back into a classroom and stay there.
Health and Nutrition: We have quietly stepped in to cover medical treatments for children facing chronic illnesses, alongside distributing essential food baskets. When a family doesn't have to choose between buying medicine or buying bread, the entire weight of survival lifts just a little bit.
We are a small team, and we choose to focus heavily on quality over quantity. We aren't interested in just passing through people’s lives to hand over a quick package; we are interested in building a steady, reliable bridge from crisis to recovery.
We are incredibly grateful that you have chosen to be a part of this bridge. There are still so many children waiting for that extra bit of support to get back on their feet, but because of you, the ones we reached this month are safe, fed, and looking toward tomorrow.
Become a Pillar of Steady Support
The emergencies we respond to don’t follow a calendar, and neither does the need of a child who is looking for safety. While a one-time gift can pull a family out of an immediate crisis, it is steady, predictable support that allows us to plan ahead, act instantly, and stay by their side for the long haul.
If you believe in this work, the most powerful way you can stand with us is by becoming a monthly donor. By joining our inner circle of monthly supporters, you provide the quiet, reliable foundation—our Filotimo—that keeps these children safe, month after month.
Even a small monthly commitment ensures that when a mother calls us in desperation, we don't have to wait to raise funds. We can just say yes.
Thank you for standing with us, Olimpia and the Team
