Make the Ageless Wisdom of Tibet Available to All

After the hectic holiday season, we are starting the new year refreshed with energy to continue our mission to bring the ancient wisdom of Tibet to as many people as possible. The last few months have seen our team work full steam ahead on new content and improvements to the website, some of which we’ll share with you here. 

Firstly, over the last few months, our globally based translators, editors, and assistants have prepared 355 article translations and 125 copyedited texts, along with 104 subtitle files. We have also written new content for the website, such as biographies of spiritual teachers ranging from Chandrakirti to the Fifth Dalai Lama, along with a number of new written interviews. On our YouTube channel, we released a brand new video series with Dhammananda Bhikkhuni, the trailblazing Buddhist nun who is the first Thai woman to receive full ordination in the Thai Theravada tradition. This interview has been incredibly well received, with dozens of positive comments from viewers across the world. Meanwhile, we continued with our efforts to interview the most eminent Buddhist masters of our time. In January, we interviewed Yangten Rinpoche from His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Private Office, along with Geshe Kelsang Wangmo, the first woman to ever receive the geshe degree.

Since the beginning of December, our website has attracted 430,000 users who have delved into over 900,000 articles. A significant portion of our audience hails from the US, India, Russia, Germany, and Thailand, reflecting our global reach and the diverse interest in our content. Meanwhile, our "Introduction to Buddhism" course on Udemy has continued to excel, signaling strong interest in our educational offerings. Inspired by this success, we are excited to announce that we will be developing several new courses over the coming months. Here are some of our accomplishments over these last three months: 

• Preparation and publication of 355 translations of articles into our various languages
• Copyediting of 125 transcripts, files and articles
• Preparation and publication of 104 subtitle files
• Revision and expansion begun of “Details of Karma: The Vaibhashika Presentation” based on translation and analysis of Sanskrit and Tibetan primary sources
• Conducting and video recording of two Zoom lectures for students of Buddhism in Chernigev, Ukraine and for Ukrainian wives in exile in Poland
• Conducting and video recording of three Zoom lectures for students of Ganden Tendar Ling Buddhist Center, Moscow, Russia
• Publication of our 37^th language section, Indian Punjabi (Gurmukhi script)
• Creation and addition of a Courses button and icon for the top navigation bar of the English website, addition of Courses link to the footer in all languages, and removal of the promotion banner for the Udemy course
• Creation of reading time calculation for articles in each language, design of a reading time icon, and addition of it to all articles in all languages
• Addition of Spiritual Advisor to About Us page
• Addition of further illustrations and images to various articles
• Conducting of a video interview with Yangten Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist master working directly for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s projects at His Holiness’ Private Office 
• Conducting of a video interview with Geshe Kelsang Wangmo, a German Buddhist nun who was the first woman to ever receive the Geshe degree
• Completion of the editing of 13 videos of our interview with Dhammananda Bhikkhuni, Abbess of Songdhammakalyani Monastery and the first Thai woman to receive full ordination as a Theravada bhikkhuni.
• Addition of the above 13 videos from our interview with Dhammananda Bhikkhuni to our YouTube channel, along with the preparation of a dedicated playlist, video descriptions, and video teasers, along with the addition of professionally translated Thai subtitles
• The preparation of 18 Instagram-video ready videos from Dr. Philippe Goldin’s interview
• The preparation of 13 Instagram-ready videos from Ringu Tulku’s second interview
• Preparation of 12 quotes taken from our video interviews and other sources, accompanied with graphics, and the uploading of these to social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and X, formerly Twitter)
• Preparation of 12 different video clips and the uploading of them to social media channels. Each video was prepared for posting on Facebook with 32 language subtitles, on X with embedded English subtitles, and on Instagram at 9:16 format with embedded English subtitles
• Preparation of 12 article posts for our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and X) along with introductions to these articles.
• Design, preparation and despatch of 6 newsletters to our over 8,900 Mailchimp subscribers
• Collecting of portrait images for our more than 60 authors and experts for a new About Us page on the website 
• Design of this Authors and Experts page
• Attending fundraising seminars to enhance our fundraising strategies and to gain insights from successful fundraiser charities
• Addition of a written interview with Geshe Tashi Tsering in the Interviews section
• Addition of a written interview with Dr. Alan Wallace in the Interviews section
• The addition to our Spiritual Teachers section of 5 brand new spiritual teacher biographies: Chandrakirti, Bhavaviveka, Ngulchu Dharmabhadra, the Fifth Dalai Lama, and the Sixth Panchen Lama
• The addition of relevant photos into the article, My Story, which looks at the life of the founder of the Berzin Archives, Dr. Alexander Berzin
• Preparation begun of upgrading code libraries of the website
• Addition of a second virtual web server 
• Addition of breadcrumb navigation display for glossary enquiries 
• Addition of search, redirection and synonym features to the Russian glossary
• Technical improvements of our content management system and the Progress Reports and Newsletter sections of the website
• Continuing technical maintenance of the website.
