In Pakistan, the lack of social protection to elderly people (age 60-85) makes them extremely vulnerable in the family and societal structures. At average, there is one elderly person in each residing family of Pakistan and they are treated as burden in majority of the families. A Small Christmas Package can make their Christmas special. Christmas is the season of sharing love and bringing hope to the life of everyone. During winter,the survival and mobility of elderly people become tough due to extreme weather conditions and they lack warm stuff to protect themselves from the risky affects of weather. AWARD will provide Surprise Christmas Packages to 150 elderly people whose hope for happiness has been vanished. The package includes (2 warm suits,1 pair of shoes,3 pairs of socks,1 warm sweater,food items and a Christmas cake)
The provision of warm clothes at the Christmas Season will protect them from cold weather and save them from various seasonal diseases. The food items will further provide them nourishment and give them self confidence, happiness and sense of care from the members of the society. The project will also be source of participation and realization for their own children to take care of their elderly parents who spent their own lives for their well being
